Mike Boydston has an impressive dedication to BBC...

....and also an impressive amount of free time, apparently.  Making a record of all the books we have read in the four (!) years of BBC was a long-requested blog feature and has been on my list of things to do for awhile, but Mike went and just did it.  I appended our most recent reads to the end of his impressive efforts.  Thanks to all of you who have been a part of the group over the last few years.

Get ready to gaze in admiration/horror at Mike's comprehensive BBC history (now immortalized in the "BBC - The Story So Far" permalink to the right) after the jump:

  1. Most awesome. Thanks for the record keeping! I'm also realizing how many wonderful books I've read through the BBC that I totally wouldn't have read otherwise, so thanks to all for the social pressure.

  2. Yes, I am very dedicated and you should all bow down before me. What, is that not how it works?

Really, it wasn't that hard. An appallingly large percentage of my job consists of sifting through old emails, so I came to the task well prepared. (And, judging from Andrew's old emails, it was the only way I could ensure the correct spelling of "Kavalier.")

More seriously, I had about the same reaction Seth did. As I started into the list I found books I'd forgotten we read but that I really liked, including some of our best nonfiction like My Year of Flops and A Few Seconds of Panic. Then I just got amused by some of the timing. (The Jaunting book was more than a year ago? Damn.) Then I started thinking about spreadsheets tallying instances of recurring topics, as in The Sparrow of course. And then I knew it was time to stop.
